My boyfriend initially couldn't book out because of army on his actual birthday, so I didn't make any plans at all for his birthday. So when he managed to book out, I was also quite surprised, and honestly embarrassed at myself because I didn't prepare anything at all. I've already made plans to celebrate his birthday at a later date (which I'll post about soon, so keep a look out ya), so in the end I had a simple impromptu mini celebration for him at Little Diner.

280g Chargrilled Strip Steak ($28.50)
Feisty Aglio Olio ($19.50)
I thought that this cafe was really nice.. The waitresses were attentive and polite too. I've heard of this cafe/restaurant countless of times, and I'm glad I tried it on my boy's special day. The food wasn't exactly fantastic, but good enough in my opinion. The Chipotle Aioli sauce paired with the fried calamari was amazing, had me gorging myself with that non-stop before my mains arrived. Boyfriend's steak was pretty tasty as well, the mashed potatoes were so good but it's so high in carbs. Why does food that makes me gain weight, or food that is so unhealthy, always tastes so good?!?!?!?! Ugh. Ok enough with this nonsensical rant of mine.
My aglio olio was rather awful.. Totally should have ordered something more mainstream like Fish & Chips because that dish is so hard to go wrong.
Apologies for the photo spam above. I simply love the pictures we took together that day. We just chilled and chatted after we finished our meal because we were too lazy to budge, which reminds me of how I appreciate places that doesn't indirectly chase you out after you're done with your meal. We should also be given some time to hang around in your restaurant after such a fulfilling meal, no??? But of course, we can't all be selfish and decide to sit there for a good whole afternoon/night and not let your seats to others waiting in line.. But I mean, 15-30mins is quite a reasonable time right?
We went for some drinks and sang K after dinner though.. Feeling kind'a sorry that my boyfriend had to settle for such an uninteresting celebration on his 21st. But oh well, I'm just gonna comfort myself by saying that it's the company and thought that really matters. He he he
Signing off,
