Just some visuals of Claire & I at the airport, in the plane.. all before we arrived BKK.
Happy faces to have finally landed in the land of smiles and we were on the cab en route to our hotel!
Our room was huuuuuuuuge. Totally pleased with our stay at Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. I'd totally book this hotel again on my next trip! It was so spacious, more than enough for 4 girls. We stayed in the Executive Luxury Suite, 52sqm.
Slipped my mind to snap any pictures of the hotel lobby's interior/exterior.. These are just some pictures of the lift hahaha.
Simple getup for our flight because I was afraid it was gonna be really humid in Bangkok. After freshening up, we headed to Platinum Mall for our lunch/dinner before we began shopping. I bought a strawberry yoghurt drink at some random street stall outside Platinum which was so refreshing and good. My usual food choice at the foodcourt of Platinum would be pad thai. It's literally the best pad thai that I've ever eaten in my life. If you haven't tried it yet, please do! Claire had herself a bowl of kwaychap, but according to her, it sucked..
Platinum Mall closes as early as 7-8PM on weekdays.. Some shops would already be packing up at 6! So we didn't stay long and we went straight to Siam night market, which is just opposite Siam Paragon and it is really big there. I can never seem to finish walking because there are simply too many stalls. We'd just start in the middle of nowhere and even after hours of walking, we still haven't seen the end of the market yet!
Anyway.. we went to grab some desserts at After You Siam Paragon after shopping. I've missed the toast here terribly. There's no cafe in Singapore that does toast as good as After You! I got myself a cup of Royal Thai Iced Tea and Claire got herself a Flat White. The drinks at After You doesn't really suit my liking though. We also got ourselves our favorite Shibuya Honey Toast!!! We wanted to get the baby size toast initially but I think our order was keyed in incorrectly, so we ended up getting the original sized toast. But what's there to complain!?!?! It was so yummy that we finished everything.
We ended our day 1 after another round of shopping at Palladium Night Market, which is just a stone's throw away from Berkeley Hotel, followed by leg massage at Sayamon massage which was also pretty near our hotel. As there were only the 2 of us on the first day (Matilda and Natasha were only gonna arrive on the second day), we didn't really dare to roam the streets at night, so we just munched on our chips back at the hotel and had a really long yet good late night girly talk till we fell asleep.
Apologies for the lack of pictures, but do stay tuned to find out what else we did during the trip!
Signing off,
Vinez, xx
