BKK Day 2/6

Started our day early and we headed straight to the famous Sabx2 Wanton Noodles for breakfast. It's no surprise that there was already a long queue there. That place is always filled with Singaporeans/Malaysians, so I kind'a feel safer in that place than on the streets. It was a short 10-15 minutes wait for a seat so it wasn't too bad.. Ordered the small bowls - 60 baht, because we wanted to save our stomach for other food. Their chrysanthemum tea is really sweet and nice though, but probably too sweet a drink for me to consume in the AM. Not that Coca Cola is a good choice, but still..
The wanton noodles are really tangy and tastes great on its own, but even better when mixed with the spices provided. They're also quite famous for their roasted pork, so you might wanna give that a shot too!

Made our way to Platinum Mall, which is somehow just opposite the famous wanton noodles stall. Shopped around while waiting for the arrival of Matilda & Natasha. Got myself some Cha Yen and realized it was a bad choice because it only made me thirstier. Damn but that was a good cup of thai milk tea.

The 2 girls were stuck in a massive jam on their way to the hotel, so Claire & I decided to check the hotel out in the meantime. Their poolside was really chill, and I totally wouldn't mind chilling there if not for the fact that the weather was a total killer!!!!! Left shortly after we took a few pictures there.

Just had to take a picture in the toilet of Siam Center because Matilda said it looks like Zouk.

Decided to have Audrey Cafe for dinner. It had a rather similar concept to Antoinette though, really cozy yet posh.

The food was relatively satisfying, maybe also because we were hungry. We had Thai Tea Mille Crepe Cake, New York Cheesecake, Macaroni Gratin, Ice Horlick Blend, Matcha Frappe and Chocolate Shake. There was a huge contrast between the 2 desserts - the thai tea crepe cake was delightful, however the newyork cheesecake was somewhat ordinary.. The mac'n'cheese, on the other hand, was amazeballs to a point where everyone was just focusing on that dish and neglecting the rest! The 2 drinks, especially the iced horlick blend was extremely yummy, but the matcha frappe sucked so bad.
However, I probably wouldn't revisit the cafe as there wasn't any dish in particular that I was attracted to, unlike After You.
The bill came up to be rather steep for a cafe in Bangkok, but it's still an economical meal. In Singapore, I think it would cost up to $40 per head on average, and not approximately $40 in total for 4 pax! I'm starting to think that Singapore is a very costly country to reside in..

Shopped at Siam night market after our meal and..

Hereby presenting to you my FAVORITE street food of BKK ever: pork satay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the best part of it? It's only 10 freaking baht. Omg I can get loads of this at one go. Introduced this to the girls and they all loved it as well. Although it's damn fatty and oily, but boy it's all worth it. You can find this mainly on the streets or chatuchak market, and when you do see it, buy it~

Second favorite street food has gotta be this banana prata. It's the combination of all the ingredients I looooove; banana, condensed milk, chocolate sauce, prata. I used to have such'a hard time finding it on my previous trips to Bangkok, but this time round, we just happened to chance upon the stall. Lucky us! We bought this from Palladium night market. This is like sex in your mouth, you gotta try it to know what I mean!

While on the way to our usual massage place, we bought some mango sticky rice from this really kindhearted and friendly elderly. We were able to converse with her in dialect and she gave us a generous portion of mangoes. The mangoes were really juicy and sweet and soft- perfection! I've never tasted mangoes soooooo good before. From our conversation with her, we found out that she opens till really late in the night, so please do show her some support if you come across her stall.

Did the full body massage and I swear we were total nuisances in the shop! Our laughter filled the shop the whole 1hour that we were there. Fortunately we were their last customers, so technically we didn't really disturb any one else. But that has gotta be the best massage night ever!

Returned back to the hotel with our unhealthy supper, drinking vodka redbull and laughing till we fell asleep eventually..

I'll continue updating about BKK real soon, but in the meanwhile, you can read my BKK Day 1 post over >>> HERE
