Tsukada Nojo x The udder pancake x You Huak Sembawang White Beehoon x BonChon Chicken x Jerome's unit POP x New Udon Thai Food x Montana Brew Bar x Cafe Insadong x O'ma Spoon

Greetings to everyone! I've been away for close to a month now, and I've so much to update here on this space. Life's been really hectic and I barely have enough time to sleep, much less update this dead blog of mine.
Planned to do a mini update before I flew off to BKK for a holiday, but as expected, my laziness got the better of me. However, it's gonna be an interesting post I guess? With all of the delicious food places, and night markets etc. Oh boy, I can't wait to start on my BKK blog post already!

So I met up with Claire for dinner after work (when I was still working with my mom at her office) at one of our favorite restaurants.
  • Address: Tsukada Nojo
  • #03-04/04A Westgate 3 Gateway Drive S(608532)
  • Tel: 64659356
  • Opening hours: Lunch 1130AM - 3PM, Dinner 5PM - 10PM
We ordered the set of 2 pax and it only costed us about $25++ per pax.

This was while we were waiting for the chicken collagen to melt

What the set consisted of, prawns, meat, lady fingers, enoki mushrooms, lettuce, and many more. Personally felt that they should have more meat instead of greens.

They'd always give us a portion of the chicken, along with a cup of the soup before adding any ingredients in. This has gotta be the most precious cup throughout the whole meal cos you have only got that one cup and it's so good, you'd want more!!!

Desserts to end the meal!

Went down to the Singapore Art Museum to take pictures at the photobooth that almost everyone that I'm following on Instagram have taken before! It looks so adorable, be it couples, or good friends, the photos just turns out so well, so I knew I had to try it too.

Was tryn'a go for the schoolgirl look and I think I have successfully made myself look like a 14year old kid....... Totally not what I was going for hahaha.

Feeling happy with my pictures though the photobooth was kind'a small so my boyfriend & I had to squeeze. Also, the minimal space caused us not to be able to do many poses.

I've always wondered how some couples look sooooo cute in such pictures.. Because my mind went blank when the camera was counting down to capture the picture. I had totally no poses in mind, but to just smile awkwardly at the camera.
Nonetheless, it was a good $4 ($2 for a turn) spent cos now I've these strips of photos to keep as memories.

Drove down to The Udder Pancake with my sister to have a simple Sunday dinner.

  • 17 Lorong Kilat #01-09 S(598139)
  • Tel: 6466 1055

Their menu and I'd defo wanna return to try their signature mille crepe cakes!

This was fixed inside our table, cool!

The concept of the whole cafe is very very very amusing and interesting, somewhat similar to MYUK - The Wallet Shop, which is supposedly very popular amongst kids my age as we used their pencil cases, wallets, and even bags, back in secondary school.
There are more entertaining decorations.. but I'll save that for later.

We ordered the Salted Egg Yolk Fries to share ($9.90) and this didn't disappoint us. The only downside to this is that the sauce wasn't drizzled evenly, so we each got the depressing moment when we picked up the fries without any sauce on it. :(

The Full Monty ($21.90) for my sister. What a spread!!! Everything on the plate looks delish, except the red beans.

And for me, I had the Truffled Mushrooms and Eggs pancake ($12.90) which was equally good as well.

Like I said before, anything truffled or salted egg can never go wrong. I enjoy meals like these where we can just take our time eating, and chatting.. Such a nice place with nice ambiance!

This is their main door! It is also connected to Udders Ice Cream, so it's rather big. You can even pop over to get some ice cream for desserts after your meal.

Ate white beehoon for lunch during work. It's pretty near where I stay, so I've eaten this tons of times before and it still tastes awesome.

  • You Huak Sembawang White Beehoon
  • 22 Jalan Tampang Singapore 758966 (Opp. Sembawang Shopping Centre)

  • Contact No: +65 98434699
  • Operating Hours : 11:30am to 10:30pm *Closed on every Wednesday

Above is the legendary Seafood White Beehoon ($8). They've different pricing for different sizes. We ordered 2 of the medium sized ones.

I already forgotten what we ordered, but I think it was prawn paste chicken, sambal kangkong, clams, omelette and ngor hiang (which I didn't take any pictures of).
The food here is affordable, and it's quite a popular place for families, couples, and friends to settle their meals at, so just be prepared to queue for a table, especially on a weekend. The queue is just horrible, but I promise you that the food is all worth it.
Moreover, aren't Singaporeans already trained to queue? HAHAHA

I haven't met my girlfriends Jesslyn & Min Chin for quite awhile as we were all busy with work so we decided to meet up for dinner. Decided to have korean cuisine and we stumbled upon BonChon Chicken.
  • Bugis+, #01-11, 201 Victoria Street, Singapore 188067

Minchin & I shared the Jajangmyeon ($9.95) which wasn't nice at all in my opinion. I feel like I cook better meegoreng!

The 3 of us also shared the Wings and Drumlets medium portion  which consisted of 10 pieces ($12.95). We had half of 'em in soy garlic, and another half in hot sauce. The hot sauce tasted way better than the soy garlic, but it wasn't fantastic too.. Guess I've gotta fly over to Korea to enjoy the original korean + beer one day.

BUT...... I've something to say. It may not taste as good to me, probably because we wasted lots'a time trying to take a nice food picture. It may be really good for all I know, since they've so many franchise all over the world!

Attended another one of Jerome's POP at his current unit at Sungei Gedong Camp. It's rather inaccessible cos hardly anyone goes there, probably except for the few people that works there, army boys and the very very very few people that knows of the shops in that vicinity.

Pardon my ultra shag face as I think I barely slept a wink before waking up for the ceremony. Am totes not a morning person, urg.. And I forgot to apply my sunblock, so I was practically avoiding the sun, as well as whining, throughout the whole parade.

My boyfriend in one of the vehicle!

Soldier foo & his queen.

Had Mookata at my fav place for dinner that night.
  • Address: New Udon Thai Food
  • 5001 Beach Road #01-55 Golden Mile Complex Singapore 199588

We ordered the set which costs about ($45) for 2 pax? Really pocket friendly, and their meat is so well seasoned, beats any other buffet-style mookata out there imo.

I've recommended this place to many of my friends and they all left with satisfied bellies. Do try this out if you haven't!

Played darts together with Minchin after our fulfilling dinner and each of us won a Dartslive card and 3 personal darts. It's been one of my favorite activity ever since I was introduced to it. I know it may mean nothing to all you darts pro out there, but it really made me very happy hahahaha

Decided to try this cafe with Jesslyn after our work got cancelled..
  • Address: Montana Brew Bar
  • 1 Selegie Road #01-04

It's inside POMO building so it's quite easy to locate.

While waiting for our food.........

They had a set lunch menu which we went for.
I ordered the Cheesy Spaghetti Carbonara ($9.90) set with a drink. I thought it wasn't too bad, not too creamy and I would've finished it, if not for the fact that we were going for desserts after the meal.

Jesslyn ordered the Spicy Bacon Pasta ($9.90) set which came with a drink as well.. It wasn't really spicy as Jesslyn ordered a really low spiciness level.

Small cafe but I guess I don't mind going back there again if I happen to be in that area.

So the place we decided to go for desserts was Cafe Insadong.
  • Address: 279 S Bridge Rd, 058828
  • Mon-Thu |12pm to 9.30pm Fri & Sat | 12pm to 11.30pm Sun | Closed *Last order 30 mins before closing
  • Tel: 85332003

Korean bingsu was in trend and almost everyone has already tried it. Despite many different stores, we gave Cafe Insadong a shot as we read quite a number of good reviews.

The decor of the cafe, as well as their desserts & ice cream

Their menu.

Cozy cafe with friendly staffs

Ordered the Macchiato Patbingsu Ice ($12.80) to share and a lot of effort was spent to take this picture! Jesslyn was telling me how those foodie instagrammers would go all out just to get that one perfect shot for their food, and so, we tried..
And my my my, it was so tiring?!?! Really respect those food bloggers who can get nice food shots!

Okay so for the verdict, the bingsu was not bad at all. I kind'a liked the flavor and all, though I would've tried other flavors if possible. Not finishing my pasta for this was all worthwhile.

So we sat in the cafe for hours straight, just chatting and sharing thoughts with one another. What a great catch up and I'm glad to have her company for the rest of my uni life.

Met Minchin for a job interview (sorry I know this outfit is totally not interview-appropriate but I just wanna take my ootd and I give zero care to the interview actually).

Tried out another bingsu place with Minchin after the interview as she hasn't tried it before. It's slightly more convenient but I'd go through all the trouble for Cafe Insadong or any other bingsu cafes any day!
  • Address: O'ma Spoon
  • 313 @ Somerset 313 Orchard Road #04-20/32 Singapore 238895
  • Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm Daily

The menu and part of the cafe.

Minchin had the Oreo Bingsu ($12.90) which is on the left side of the above picture.
I had the Choco Banana Bingsu ($13.90) which is on the right side of the picture.

Verdict: both the bingsu were topped with so much chocolate/oreo powder that it irritated our throat a little. When we finished the top part, the bottom part was bland and had no milky taste to it at all. We were probably supposed to mix the whole thing together but it was too big to have done so..

Heard that the Injeolmi Bingsu is better so the next time I visit this place, which is possibly not any time soon, I'd give that a shot.

Headed out to do my brows that day cos it was in such an unsightly state..

Did our brows and this time round it was really really excellent! Service was top-notch and the staffs knew what's best, so I had a peace of mind entrusting my lashes in her hands. The whole process was painless and so comfortable that I fell asleep! Best experience.

Jolene says that such hairstyle is called: messy swag. HAHAHAHA WTF

Group picture with the 2 annoying scorpios!!!

Borrowed her white shoes for my picture hahahaha

I suppose this post is long enough to cover my absence for the past 1 month. I'll be drafting another post soon before I start on my BKK trip!
Side note: school's starting in 1 week's time. Totally not looking forward to it at all.

Signing off,
Vinez, xx
